David Gutierrez is a writer, hunter, and veteran from the Midwest. He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Michigan’s Helen Zell Writers’ Program. Prior to his graduate studies, he spent more than a decade as a member of the U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Berets). David has worked within the military, defense contracting, academic, and conservation non-profit sectors.

David is retired and spends his time chasing adventure and exploring projects of interest—from fitness, to vintage Airstream restorations, to running bird dogs in pursuit of upland game. His purpose after service is simple: to share his knowledge and experience with others, and enjoy the passage of time.
